Chris Rea is a great musician and songwriter.
Although, as one of his greatest fans, I have to say that this band makes me sad.
I’m sure they’re all very good musicians in their own genre, but unfortunately they have no idea of how Chris Reas music should be interpreted.
The beat feels too stressed and sterile, far from the relaxed and steady feeling that appears on the records.
Only Chris’ song and bottleneck guitar bring some heart to this performance.
